FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL
It is a matter of great satisfaction that Allama TR College of Pharmacy, Srigouri, Badarpur, is going to commence its two year D.Pharm and four year B.Pharm courses from Academic session 2020-21. I am privileged to write this message as the first Principal of the Allama TR College of Pharmacy, a unit of ERD Foundation, Guwahati.
The college is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and affiliated to the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati.
The Allama TR College of Pharmacy has made its debut providentially in the year of Corona Pandemic. Post Corona pandemic the pharmaceutical companies and pharma professionals are bound to shoulder a bigger responsibility in supporting the healthcare system globally. A boom in the Pharmaceutical industry and Pharma profession may be happening in India post Corona Pandemic similar to IT industry boom in the nineties of last century in the wake of economic liberalisation and globalisation. Bigger investment in healthcare system in India and all over the world will create demand for Pharmacist in government hospital, semi government or private hospitals, Pharmacist in government institutions like railway, army, DRDO, ISRO, DVC etc, Chemist in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, Drug Controller, Drug Inspector, Drug Analyst, Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Packaging Consultant, Marketing Executive in various pharmaceutical companies, Clinical Research, Research Fellow, Regulatory Executive, Data Record, Medical Transcription, Medical Coding, Entrepreneurship- Wholesale and Retail pharmacy, Academics- Lecturer, Laboratory technician and many more.
In this emerging global scenario, it is a big challenge for Pharmaceutical Colleges to rise up to the occasion and produce quality pharma professionals. The Allama TR College of Pharmacy is fully equipped to take up this challenge. We will nurture students to grow as individuals and to give them the academic, social and emotional skills. We will build the self-confidence of our students so that they are fearless to take the risk of attempting new challenges. With very strong, experienced and dedicated team of teachers and excellent infrastructure, our college will enable the students to better realize their true potential and their goals in life. The college will emphasize the acquisition of knowledge, understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
In the era of cut throat competition, it is of paramount importance to be equipped with appropriate knowledge, habits, attitudes and values leading to holistic development. I know that the development of the college in a short span of time will be significant. The future will build on these firm foundations focusing on the quality of college life, especially for the benefit of our students. I intently believe that every student would develop versatile personality during his/her stay in Allama TR College of Pharmacy. I am extremely fortunate to be the first Principal of this pharmacy college which has been named after a great scholar, late Allama Tayeebur Rahman Barbhuya saheb.
